Hallmark Hotels was created as a vehicle to build a group of hotels through acquisition. The investment strategy is based upon acquiring underperforming three star hotels and converting them to four star hotels through a combination of operational improvement and managed refurbishment.
In August 2014 the company was sold to Topland in a
transaction achieving a 2x multiple on the original
investment.
