What we look for

At Bridgepoint we look to invest in strong-performing, high quality, well-managed businesses that have the potential to grow – for example through expansion, operational improvement, refocusing of strategies or acquisition.

Transaction and commitment sizes

We provide private equity capital to established companies in six principal sectors where we have significant expertise in understanding, buying and supporting businesses. We fund buy-outs and buy-ins as well as helping companies de-list from the stock exchange. Typically, we will make equity investments between €75 million and €400 million in companies capitalised between €200 million and €1 billion. Our lower middle market business Bridgepoint Development Capital specialises in investments in businesses valued up to a £200 million, taking equity stakes of between £20 million and £100 million.

We focus on companies with strong market positions, a sustainable competitive advantage and earnings growth potential. And by using our industrial, commercial and local expertise, we identify and acquire businesses where we can create significant value and superior performance by working with experienced managers. This includes serving on company boards, acting as informal sounding boards for executives and adding value by participating in a business's strategic development. In return, we motivate the managers we back through equity participation, so they can realise significant financial rewards for the value they create.

Buy and build expertise

Access to funding for acquisitions is key to value creation. We've worked with many management teams to help them target, fund and then acquire competitors, or expand product and service ranges.

As a result, Bridgepoint's reputation is centred on building value and scale - making businesses stronger and often better positioned for success. In the last 10 years, Bridgepoint has made over 320 add-on acquisitions on behalf of its investee companies.
