With 330 MW of installed capacity, Borawind is one of the largest non-utility owned platform of Spanish wind generation plants. It was acquired from listed construction conglomerate ACS. Bridgepoint, alongside a new CEO, believe that the business can be a solid platform for future growth that has a ready pipeline of potential acquisitions from existing wind farms in Spain. The development of renewable energy sources is a global growth sector and Spain has been a pioneer in the development of the wind industry.
Bridgepoint's investment in Borawind was realised in February 2016 when it was sold to Cefiro and DHAM, a consortium of international investors with interests in the energy sector.
