Bridgepoint acquired the business via a stock exchange de-listing, attracted by one of the fastest growing segments of the food segment and the opportunity to consolidate the sector.
In August 2005, a division, Noon Products, was acquired by Kerry Group for £124 million. The three remaining brands of the group - Enco (a leading supplier of Afro-Caribbean foods and drinks), Chadha (a specialist supplier of Oriental products to the grocery trade) and Funnybones (an American, Mexican, Cajun, Indian and Oriental food specialist for the foodservice market), were subsequently sold to GraceKennedy, a Caribbean food trading business, in March 2007, for an undisclosed sum.
