Beck & Pollitzer sold to Graphite Capital

Bridgepoint Development Capital (‘BDC’) today agreed the sale of Beck & Pollitzer, the engineering services company, to Graphite Capital for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Dartford, UK, Beck & Pollitzer is a leading global engineering services business, providing specialist machine installation, relocation and maintenance services such as the relocation and installation of industrial plant and machinery. The company serves a range of blue-chip multinational manufacturing clients from 26 offices in 14 countries. It is the European market leader in this specialist niche.

Investment in the business was originally made by Hermes Private Equity in 2007 but since 2009 has been managed by BDC under whose ownership a new strategic plan and operational improvement initiatives were implemented including a renewed focus on repeat orders from existing clients enhanced training and upskilling of staff.

Mark Stroud, partner of BDC, said: 'The operational and strategic changes introduced under BDC ownership revitalised the company and returned the business to growth. Today, Beck & Pollitzer is well-positioned for continued growth through expansion into new geographies and the potential of add-on acquisitions.'

Andrew Hodgson, CEO of Beck & Pollitzer said: "BDC have been a supportive and constructive investor. The work that BDC and Management have carried out over the last few years has ensured that the company is now operationally and strategically well positioned for the next phase of its development."
