As a result of this initial investment and subsequent additional acquisitions, BDC built a fully integrated, high quality, medium-sized provider of IT infrastructure services focused on the small and medium sized enterprise market. Pulsant was sold in June 2014 to Oak Hill Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.

Bridgepoint, alongside an experienced external CEO identified Lumison as a buy and build platform from which to develop a broader provider of IT infrastructure services to the underserved SME segment.

Lumison completed its first bolt-on investment in March 2010 with the acquisition of colocation provider, Blue Square Data. Subsequent investments in September 2011, in DediPower and Scolocate in December 2012, broadened the service offering and scale of the group to encompass cloud hosting, colocation and managed hosting increased the combined companies were re-branded Pulsant in March 2012.
