DMC Power supplies permanent couplings and associated tooling to the US and Canadian electricity transmission and distribution industry for use primarily in high voltage electricity sub-stations.
Its high voltage convectors use new connection technology which offers electrical substations material efficiency, cost and installation advantages.
The business was previously the power connectors division of Permaswage, the aerospace component supplier that manufactured permanent and separate couplings. When Permaswage, a Bridgepoint investment, was successfully sold in 2013, Bridgepoint retained ownership of DMC Power.
The company is focussed on applying its unique connection techniques, which displace welded and bolted alternatives, to the North American substation market but has significant opportunities for international expansion in the power infrastructure sector globally.
