The investment was initially made by a fund managed by Bridgepoint Development Capital in 2016 and is currently co-owed with a fund managed by Bridgepoint Europe following additional investment in 2021.

In August 2024, Bridgepoint announced that the Bridgepoint funds have agreed the exit of their investment in Vitamin Well. The funds will retain a significant minority stake in the business.

The transaction is subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals. It is expected to complete in the second half of 2024.

The company’s portfolio consists of three core brands (Vitamin Well, Nocco and Barebells), which are sold internationally with a focus on expansion outside of its home markets in the Nordic region. The functional food and drinks segment has been growing rapidly in recent years and is forecast to continue to grow at 10 to 20% p.a., driven by increased awareness and greater consumer focus on healthier and more active lifestyles.
