Bridgepoint focusses on investing in Middle Market businesses via four distinct fund strategies:
- Middle Market, implemented via Bridgepoint's flagship buyout fund, which focusses on investing in market-leading businesses typically valued between €250 million and €1.5 billion;
- Lower Mid-Cap, implemented via Bridgepoint Development Capital which focusses on investing in lower middle market companies valued up to £200 million;
- Early-Stage Growth, implemented via Bridgepoint Growth which focusses on companies using digital technologies to achieve transformational growth in their end-markets, typically seeking equity investment of between £5 million and £20 million;
- Credit, implemented via Bridgepoint Credit, is our private credit platform that invests across the capital structure and risk-reward spectrum through three complementary strategies of Syndicated Debt, Direct Lending and Credit Opportunities.
We have over 170 investment professionals covering six sectors and are present in Europe, the US and China. This long-established network of people and offices, along with a substantial industrial presence arising from our portfolio of companies, generate the depth and breadth of insight and intelligence to allow Bridgepoint to pursue the best opportunities and support the best companies.
Our reach is extensive for the businesses we back: from arranging and financing domestic and cross-border acquisitions, connecting management teams with potential customers and partners, to recruiting talent in new markets. By driving operational change, growth and transformational development, we add strategic value to the businesses we invest in.
Bridgepoint also provides wide ranging input on procurement to portfolio companies. The service includes access to favourable pricing agreements (achieves thanks to the size of our portfolio), eAuctionsoftware and specialist input on driving down cost on spend categories such as freight and insurance. This service is delivered by PEPCO, an independent Bridgepoint company.
What drives us
All of us at Bridgepoint are driven by a set of values and beliefs about how we do business. These are shared across our Firm and are fundamental to our professional and personal conduct.
They underscore our duty to invest responsibly and help us maintain the highest levels of corporate governance and apply the highest standards of professionalism across the Firm.
We settle for nothing less than superior performance achieved by entrepreneurship, initiative, intelligent judgement and teamwork.
We always seek to make a difference – for investors, companies or in our duty as a responsible investor within the broader community.
We are straightforward, open professionals who act without arrogance and embrace the views of others without prejudice.
A working environment where people can be themselves
At Bridgepoint we believe in the power of the individual. We’re a decisions business and we make better decisions when we’re better informed – when we are able to see challenges and opportunities from multiple angles. Our approach to DE&I (diversity, equity and inclusion) is therefore not about tokenism or ticking boxes, it’s about our diversity of thought and collective intelligence and the impact they can bring on the quality of our decision-making, outcomes and performance.
We aim to create a work environment that properly reflects the communities in which we operate, where every voice is heard, and everyone’s wellbeing is valued. Why? Because doing so makes our company a better place to work. And because it makes Bridgepoint a better business and helps us achieve our wider, strategic goals. That’s why, by becoming more diverse, equitable and inclusive, Bridgepoint is becoming a better business.
Investing internationally
We have offices in every major European private equity market as well as in the United States (New York and San Francisco) and China (Shanghai). This means we can deploy resources effectively when identifying and completing transactions as well as manage value creation in the businesses we support.
