In June 2011 CABB agreed the acquisition of KemFine, a custom manufacturing business, that transformed CABB’s custom manufacturing capabilities into a global top three provider of intermediate chemicals to the agrochemical industry.

In June 2014 the company was sold to Permira.

Based in Germany, CABB is the largest producer of ultra-high purity monochloroacetic acid (MCAA), an essential component in a wide range of end market applications ranging from herbicides to personal care and food products. It is also a leading global producer of speciality chemicals derived from chlorine and sulphur and also provides high-spec custom manufacturing for blue-chip chemical multinationals. Operating from five manufacturing sites in Germany, Switzerland, Finland and India, with sales offices in the UK, China, Argentina and North America, it has over 980 employees.
