In July 2006, it was sold to BC Partners and AXA Private Equity in a transaction totalling €750 million.

Médica is the market leader in France and Italy for two sectors: medical/welfare sector through its nursing homes; and the healthcare sector through its convalescence and rehabilitation centres and psychiatric clinics.

During the investment period, Médica grew significantly via an accelerated acquisition – growth programme as well as operational improvements to its sales and marketing systems.
